Chrysler boosting Wrangler production
Under the agreement, 25 workers on each of the two ten-hour daily shifts will be reassigned from non-production jobs to positions on the assembly line. This will allow the addition of about five vehicles per hour to the schedule. The plant currently builds about 700 Wranglers per day.
U.S. Wrangler sales jumped 30 percent last year and inventory levels have remained tight. According to numbers released today, the Toledo plant produced 62,798 Wranglers and 102,368 Wrangler Unlimiteds in 2011.
